BY BUS
The following link (Bus Time Table) lists the schedule of all the bus numbers which stop close to the entrance of the port. The bus stop closest to the port is the one located in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele. This bus stop is around 100 m from the south entrance of the port. The bus stop in Via XVI Settembre and at Porta Tarquina are around 200 metres from the north entrance of the port.
The regional bus service is operated by Compagnia Trasporti Lazio (Co.Tra.L.). By clicking this link one can find the schedule for the bus service to and from Civitavecchia. The bus terminus for these services is located in piazza Vittorio Emanuele near the south entrance of the port. A shuttle service is available to transport passengers to their ship.
BY TRAIN
From Rome: There are around two services every hour than link Rome with Civitavecchia. All the major train stations in Rome (Termini, Ostiense, Tiburtina, Tuscolana, Trastevere, San Pietro) are directly linked with Civitavecchia. Tickets and train schedules are available on-line on the Trenitalia website.
From Italy: It is suggested that one consults the Trenitalia website for further information on schedules and tickets. There is a good service to major cities in Italy either directly or through Roma Termini.
From the train station at Civitavecchia it is very easy to reach the port either on foot (a distance of around 500 metres) or by taxi to the entrance of the port areas where a shuttle bus will transfer passengers to their ship. Fiumicino airport (Leonardo da Vinci) one of Europe’s premier international airport is situated just 60 km away from Civitavecchia.
On the website of Airoporti di Roma (ADR) one is able to obtain information on domestic and international flights to/from Fiumicino. Once ne arrives at Fiumicino airport, reaching the port of Civitavecchia is very easy.
-by train: by catching the direct train service from the airport to Ostiense (around 15 minutes) and then from Ostiense the train to Civitavecchia (allow 50 minutes train journey).
- by car: allow forty minutes to arrive by car to the port of Civitavecchia. Click on this link for an interactive map which indicates the road to Civitavecchia and the port.
